At the end of last century ,Zhouzhuang builds "the industrial base of the sensor "by cooperating with Chinese Academy of Sciences and introduces sensor industry group with "Low energy consumption 、pollution-free, high technical content as well as fine development prospect successfully. Relying on tourism industry and sensor industry as both wings, Zhouzhuang has become the paradise for tourists and the good place for investors.

Zhouzhuang has already been the outstanding achievement award of world cultural heritage protection in the Asian-Pacific area of UNESCO. Additionally,it is also the  "National Torch Plan Sensor Industrial Base" and "National 863 High-new Research and Development Industrial Base". The first sensor industry technology association in China was also established in Zhouzhuang.
