Natural conditions
Position Located in the Changjiang Delta , in
the southwest of Kunshan in Jiangsu Province,
with east longitude 120¡ã 48 ' 21 "- 120¡ã 09 ' 04
" and north latitude 31¡ã 06 ' 34 "- 31¡ã 32 ' 36
". The climate is the south monsoon in the north
subtropical, which is warm and moist, making a
clear distinctive four seasons, with sufficient
illumination and plentiful rainfall. The average
temperature is 16.5¡ãc of the whole year; and
annual precipitation is 1447 centimeter, time
for annual sunshine is 1697 hours. Frost-free
period of the whole year is 239 days.
Location It adjoins the international
metropolis- Shanghai in the east, next to
historical cultural city -Suzhou in the west.
Zhou Zhuang can absorb successful experience
from Pudong development zone and Suzhou

transformer substation with35,000 volts *2 in
the district.
Gas- supply There exists a liquefied gas station
and the national key project of air supply
pipeline of " natural gas from the western to
the eastern regions " across Kunshan have been
finished.
Drainage There is an arterial highway for sewage
and drainage disposal systems for rain and
sewage according to the principle that the rain
and sewage separately. There is a sewage
disposal plant in the town.
Telecommunication There is a
programmed-controlled switchboard with 100
million telephones and modern telecommunication
networks, such as cellular telephone , Internet,
etc. have already been taken shape.
Customs The custom and National Imports and
Exports Inspection & Quarantine Bureau. Kunhshan
is an imported and exported cargoes shunt center
of Shanghai and Suzhou direct port, approved by
General Administration of Customs as a national
class II port.
